Iran’s PMO discloses activities of Astara port

About 11,500 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port of the Gilan Province (northern Iran) in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, 11,300 tons of cargo were exported and 168 tons were imported through the Astara port over the first month.

“During the 1st month, 230 tons of metal products, 7,110 tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port,” the statistics said.

Moreover, 3 tons of equipment, vehicles, spare parts, 3,000 tons of chemicals, 34 tons of leather goods, clothing, wood materials, paper, 1,130 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month, the statistics said.

As reported, more than 11 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the first month of the current Iranian year. This is an increase of 14.4 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
