Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a number of serious complaints to the Turkmennebitgazgurlushyk (TurkmenNeftegasStroy) public concern management during a workshop meeting the Turkmen Altyn Asir TV channel reported on March 11.
'As a result of relaxing controls in this area, the Turkmen President announced that Amanaliev Gurbanov be reprimanded, demanding that appropriate measures are taken as soon as possible ', a statement said.
In particular, the President pointed to the low level of labor discipline among the employees of subordinate enterprises and institutions of the state concern.
Subdivisions of the concern are engaged in building oil and gas pipelines and oil and gas fields.as well as reconstruction of refining facilities and construction of steel and concrete reservoirs.
The concern at this stage is implementing a project on the construction of the longest highway in the country namely East-West which starts from the Shatlyk gas compressor station (GCS) in Mary province, to the Belek GCS in Balkan province, together with the Turkmengaz public concern.
The construction of the East-West gas pipeline with length by various estimates of 800 kilometres will connect all gas lines into a single ring. The approximate cost of the pipeline is more than $2 billion. Eight compressor stations will be built in the framework of the project's implementation. The East-West is planned to be commissioned by mid-2015. It is expected that this communication can provide raw materials for the Trans-Caspian pipeline project.
Turkmenistan ranks fourth in natural gas reserves in the world. At present it is exporting this fuel to the Chinese, CIS and Iranian markets. The variants of building gas pipelines from Turkmenistan to the markets of South Asia and Europe are being examined.
