Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan continue work on border delimitation

A regular meeting of governmental delegations of Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic on the delimitation and demarcation of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border was held in Kyrgyz city of Osh on July 16-21, Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said.

A regular meeting of governmental delegations of Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic on the delimitation and demarcation of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border was held in Kyrgyz city of Osh on July 16-21, Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said.

The parties held a joint field survey in some sections of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border. According to the survey, the relevant decisions have been taken, the report said. It is also noted that the meeting was held in a constructive and benevolent atmosphere.

During the meeting the sides discussed passage of Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border line through its separate sections.

Recently, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan have stepped up work on the delimitation and demarcation of borders.

The previous meeting of the governmental delegations was held in Fergana (Uzbekistan) on June 26-30.

The total length of border between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan is 1,375 kilometers, 300 kilometers of which is under discussion.
