Turkey’s cement exports to Georgia down

Georgia’s imports of cement from Turkey from January through November 2021 amounted to $12.3 million, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).

The current figure decreased by 26.7 percent, compared to $16.8 million worth of cement exports to Georgia over the reporting period in 2020.

The volume of Turkey’s cement exports to Georgia over first 11 months of 2021 also decreased by 35.4 percent – from 313,513 tons over 202,383 tons in the same period of 2020.

Turkey ranks second among top cement exporters to Georgia over the reporting period of 2021, following Azerbaijan ($27.9 million).

Georgia’s total imports of cement from January through November 2021 amounted to $40.2 million - an increase of 16.1 percent, compared to $34.6 million over the same period of 2020.

The volume of the imported cement to Georgia over the first 11 months of 2021 also increased by 15.6 percent, compared to the same period of 2020 – from 678,281 tons to 784,594 tons.
