When the court passes a sentence on ex-President Hosni Mubarak, security in Cairo will be provided by 160 tanks and 20,000 policemen, Egyptian newspapers report on Thursday.

The main security forces will be concentrated around the police academy building in Cairo where a sentence on Mubarak and his seven associates will be passed on the 2nd of June, The Voice of Russia reported.

Mubarak who was dismissed from the presidential position about a year ago is charged with abuse of authority and corruption when in power, as well as with ordering police to shoot at protesters, as a result of which 800 people were killed.

If the 83-year-old ex-President is found guilty he may face a death sentence.
