A ship with more than 200 passengers on board was slit open in a collision with a barge on the Rybinsk Reservoir but there were no injuries, rescue officials reported Wednesday.
According to Interfax, two rescue vessels evacuated passengers to safety. The cause of the collision was not yet known, DPA reported.
The reservoir is located 300 kilometres north of Moscow on the Volga River. The waterway is a favourite travel route for tourists travelling between St. Petersburg and Moscow.
