Pop singer and actress Whitney Houston has died at age 48, dpa reported.
Kristen Foster, her representative, confirmed Houston's death to CNN. The cause of death was not revealed.
Houston fought drug and alcohol addictions throughout her life in the limelight. She had one child with former husband Bobby Brown.
Her death came on the eve of Sunday's presentation of the Grammy Awards for music, where Houston won six awards during her lifetime.
She has sold 200 million albums worldwide, the celebrity gossip website TMZ said.
