Remarks by Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt describing an indecent anti-Islam film called "Innocence of Muslims," which targets the character of the Prophet Muhammad, as "freedom of expression" have received a strong reaction from Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Todays Zaman reported.

While emphasizing the unacceptable nature of violent protests across the Muslim world that have claimed lives of innocent people, Davutoglu warned his counterpart of the need to show more respect to the religious values of others.

"The producer has explicitly confessed that it is a provocation. Freedom of expression does not give someone the right to defame others," Davutoglu stated, while addressing his counterpart.
