Cargo turnover at Turkish Antalya Airport declines for 1Q2021

The cargo turnover at Turkish Antalya International Airport from January through March 2021 made up 12,413 tons, down 52 percent compared to the same period of last year, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

According to the ministry, in the reporting period, cargo turnover on domestic flights amounted to 6,635 tons, and on international – 5,778 tons (decrease of 37 percent and 62 percent compared to 1Q2020, respectively).

Passenger traffic at the airport made up over 1.1 million, which is 51 percent less over the year. Of these, 684,491 passengers were served on domestic flights (47-percent reduction), while 461,738 passengers - on international flights (down 56 percent).

The ministry also noted that the number of performed flights was 12,562, which is 38 percent less than in the first quarter of last year.

Meanwhile, 9,049 flights were carried out on domestic lines (decrease by 25 percent), and 3,513 - on international lines (58-percent drop).

From January through March 2021, the volume of cargo transportation through all Turkish airports amounted to 17.6 million passengers, and the cargo turnover – 600,433 tons, added the ministry.
