Arrival of Rasul Guliyev to Azerbaijan will change nothing for the opposition and will not accelerate, as they state, democratic processes, a political bureau member of the Yeni Azerbaijan party (YAP), a Milli Mejlis deputy Aydin Mirzazade told Trend.
He noted there is democracy in Azerbaijan and it is not the matter of a person residing outside Azerbaijan for 10 years and far from realities and developments in the country to develop it.
Mirzazade also noted, if Guliyev declares his innocence, he is to come and prove it at the court. According to him, there are no political motives in the Rasulov’s case, he has been prosecuted for the offences committed. Mirzazde stated, the Azerbaijani authorities do not hinder his returning to the country. Hs arrival should be accepted as the arrival of an ordinary citizen. Dissemination of information by the opposition that the authorities impede his return says, that the oppositional forces seek to focus the public attention on such scandals.
