The conditions created for the rhythmic gymnastics development are better in Azerbaijan than in Europe, representative of the Italian national team at the Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships Julia Namatenko told Trend in Baku on June 15.
Namatenko stressed that the championship was organized at the highest level , with all the necessary conditions, adding that Baku's National Gymnastics Arena is a grand architectural structure.
She stressed that in such conditions the athletes will definitely show good results.
Namatenko, who visits Baku for the first time, stressed the hospitality of the Azerbaijani people
"I liked the city," she said. "To be honest, I could not even imagine that Baku is such a beautiful city and its residents are so hospitable. I am sure that Azerbaijan will host such grand competitions in the future because all the necessary conditions have been created."
Azerbaijan ranked third in the team tournament among juniors held at the Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships in Baku on June 14. In total, Azerbaijan scored 94.364 points.
Russia ranked first in the team competition with 96.815 points, while Belarus with 94.715 points ranked second.
The 30th Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships is being held in the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku.
Some 258 gymnasts from 33 countries have been competing for nine sets of awards in the tournament that is being held in Baku for the third time. The championship is scheduled to wrap up today on June 15.
