Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec. 21
By Fatih Karimov - Trend:

Iran has announced nine countries as its destinations to send workforce.

Iranian Labor Minister Ali Rabiee said that Australia, Canada, Denmark, Turkey, Oman, Qatar, Georgia, South Korea, and the U.S., as Iran's destinations to send workforce, Iran's Mehr news agency reported on Dec. 21.

Over the past 10 years sending Iranian laborers overseas has been facing with problems mainly due to the sanctions on the country as well as inability of Iranian laborers to speak foreign languages.

Rabiee said that laborers are sent to Canada and Denmark through international job centers, although no agreements have been signed with the two countries.

Just one of the job centers has sent 85 laborers to European countries, he added.

New job markets have been identified in South Asian countries and Persian Gulf Arab states, he noted.

In Sept., Rabiee said that currently 6 million people are unemployed in Iran.

College graduates account for the lion share of the mentioned figure.

According to Rabiee, the figure will reach 10 million in the next seven years.

"Currently there are 2 million job opportunities in the country that no one is willing to take," he said, explaining that the college graduates' unwillingness to do certain jobs has given the opportunity to foreign immigrants to take the jobs.
