Iranian president Hassan Rouhani has referred to the UN Security Council resolution on Iran 's nuclear deal as a unique event.

The resolution 2231 which was passed unanimously on July 20 by members of the UN Security Council will be registered as a rare historic issue, Rouhani said, the president's official website reported July 22.

The resolution endorses a nuclear deal reached between Iran and the P5+1(the US, UK, Germany, France, China and Russia) in Vienna last week.

This is the first time that the UNSC backs an agreement signed by several countries within the framework of a resolution.

Parts of Resolution 2231 fall under Article 41 revoking the resolutions that imposed sanctions on Iran under Chapter VII of the UN Charter.

The UNSC, based on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), will lift sanctions within a period of ten years during which verifications will be carried out with regards Iran 's nuclear energy program.

Today Iran's case has been removed from the Chapter VII of the UN Charter which is a big achievement, Rouhani said.

Rouhani also said the nuclear deal between Iran and the six world powers imposes detriment to no party. The Iranian government has chosen constructive cooperation to settle the disputes, the president said, adding this strategy was successful in the nuclear talks.

Rouhani underlined that the Islamic Republic does not accept any interference in the fate of other countries. "However, we have always announced support for oppressed people."

Iran considers terrorism an important threat against the region and world as well and will spare no effort to confront that, the Iranian president said.
