During the parliamentary session the chairman of the Azerbaijani Parliament Oktay Asadov congratulated Azerbaijani people with the victory in Eurovision-2011.
"This is the victory of Azerbaijani people," Asadov said.
He said that over 800,000 people searched the information about Azerbaijan on the Internet a couple of days after the contest. It testifies to the fact that Azerbaijan has declared about itself in the world.
Deputy-chairman of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party Ali Ahmadov said at the meeting that the victory of Azerbaijan in the contest is a demonstration and embodiment of success and achievements of the country.
"The double standards are often demonstrated against Azerbaijan, but the victory of the Azerbaijani duo has demonstrated that ordinary citizens of Europe are more objective, fair, than their politicians," he said.
Azerbaijan received the highest score - 12 points from Russia, Turkey and Malta. Azerbaijan took 10 points from Ukraine, Greece, Croatia, San Marino, Romania and Moldova.
