Trend International News Agency and the Romanian National News Agency AGERPRES signed an agreement on cooperation and exchange of information.

According to the document, the parties will conduct regular exchange of active information materials, as well as photographs of the political, economic, social, cultural and humanitarian life in Romania and Azerbaijan and beyond. The parties also intend to hold regular exchanges of experience, particularly internship of agencies personnel.

The agreement was signed on Friday in the framework of the third Baku International Humanitarian Forum. The agreement was signed by Trend Director General Ilgar Huseynov and AGERPRES Director General Alex Giboi.

AGERPRES (short for Agentia româna de presa) with its headquarters in Bucharest, was founded in 1949 on the basis of the Telegraph Agency of Romania (founded in 1889). AGERPRES is considered the primary source of information about Romania, and has a broad photo base covering the whole political, economic, cultural, scientific and sporting life of the country. Currently, the agency is under transformation due to orientation on online environment and wide multi-media content.

Trend is an independent news agency founded in 1995 in Azerbaijan, and a leading provider of news in the South Caucasus and Caspian region. The agency publishes about 500 news per day in five languages - English, Russian, Azerbaijani, Persian and Arabic.
