The US engineering, procurement, and construction company KBR will continue developing its work in Azerbaijan, the company told Trend.

“Azerbaijan has been a key market for KBR since 1993. We were the first foreign contractor to enter the market. SOCAR-KBR was formed to help further Azerbaijan's ambition for creating a world-class Azerbaijan-based engineering company,” said KBR.

The company said it is very confident about future of SOCAR KBR LLC, a joint venture of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR and KBR.

“Our team in Baku is delivering various exciting greenfield and brownfield projects with a professional workforce which is over 80 percent Azerbaijani engineers and 45 percent female,” said the US company.

KBR said 2018 has been a very successful year.

“We remain committed to delivering successful, low-cost, innovative and safe projects in the region for our clients and look forward to continuing to develop and employ local Azerbaijani talent,” said KBR.

The US company said it has secured 8 new offshore projects including ACE (Azeri Central East), Umid, Babek, Absheron and various concept engineering studies.

SOCAR-KBR LLC was created in 2015 to provide design, engineering, technical, consultancy, procurement, construction supervision and project management services for all brownfield and greenfield projects across the upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas sectors.

SOCAR-KBR LLC will build upon KBR's long-term project experience in Azerbaijan to perform project management services from its established offices in Baku for the Heydar Aliyev Baku oil refinery modernization project.

KBR is a global provider of differentiated professional services and technologies across the asset and program lifecycle within the government services and hydrocarbons sectors. KBR employs approximately 34,000 people worldwide (including its joint ventures), with customers in more than 75 countries, and operations in 40 countries.
