Tashkent, Uzbekistan, April 30
By Demir Azizov- Trend:
The working groups of Uzbek and Kyrgyz governmental delegations on the issues of delimitation and demarcation of borders between the two countries summarized the interim results of the work on the draft agreement on Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border, Uzbek Foreign Ministry said on April 30.
During their meeting on April 28-29 in Tashkent, the working groups also viewed the two sides' proposals on the length of the agreed international border line, the country's Foreign Ministry said.
The previous meeting of the working groups of the two countries was held in Kyrgyzstan in early April.
Intensive talks on delimitation and demarcation of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz state border have been going on since late 2013 due to recent repeated conflicts on the two countries' common borders.
Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan have already delimited 1,058 kilometers along the boundaries where the total length of the border is 1,378 km. This is more than 70 percent of the total length of the two countries' borders.
