BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 12. The national postal operator of Azerbaijan (Azerpost) has embarked on a significant journey towards the horizon of sustainable development, Trend reports.
So, Azerpost is the trailblazer in the region, taking the bull by the horns and kicking off the issuance of postage stamps made from recycled materials. This innovation is designed to cut down on the environmental footprint of postal services and to champion green solutions across the board.
This is the inaugural stamp produced in commemoration of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, held in Azerbaijan. Azerpost LLC verified that the issued stamps fully complied with the concept and standards of the COP29 event, recognizing the significance of the occasion for our country. The primary concept of this issue, deemed entirely novel, is that the stamps are produced using 100 percent recycled materials.
The stamps rolled off the presses at the Bundesdruckerei GmbH print shop in Berlin, Germany, in a batch of 10,000 copies. It’s worth mentioning that the paper took a good 2.5 months to go through the recycling wringer. This shows that Azerpost is in it for the long haul, standing shoulder to shoulder with the vision of the COP29 event, all in the name of a greener tomorrow.
Above all, the recycled materials initiative not only helps to cut down on waste but also raises the bar for postal and government services in the region.
