BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 12. The UK has allocated five million pounds sterling for a program to regulate emissions in the fossil fuel sector as part of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition, Secretary of State for Energy Security and the UK's “Clean Zero” Ed Miliband said at the COP29 summit on Methane and Greenhouse Gases, Trend reports.
“The UK is dedicated to setting a precedent domestically by diminishing methane emissions. We must enhance our methane emissions data and assist other nations in their endeavors to mitigate methane emissions. We are glad to announce a funding allocation of five million pounds for a fossil fuel industry emissions management initiative as part of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition. However, we acknowledge the necessity to act with more speed and decisiveness. All oil and gas firms must adhere to stringent global regulations. The reality is that we have considerable progress to make. We advocate for decisive measures and express gratitude to the United States and China for their initiatives. The UK Government is dedicated to addressing this pressing issue,” he emphasized.
