BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 12. The opening ceremony of COP29 made a strong impression, the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told reporters, Trend reports.
"I arrived this morning, and I am already deeply impressed by what I’ve seen—a magnificent opening ceremony, and now world leaders are addressing the gathering. I am pleased to see that health issues are receiving more attention this year. After all, as we have always emphasized, the climate crisis is also a health crisis," he said.
In discussing the trajectory of healthcare innovation, Ghebreyesus emphasized the critical need for strategic, forward-thinking initiatives.
"The conclusion is clear: everything is in our hands. If we prepare and take all possible preventive measures, there is much we can do. It is within our power, and if we act, prepare, and prevent, we can avoid this crisis," the Director-General added
