BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 12. Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov spoke with Prime Minister of the Republic of Antigua and Barbuda Gaston Browne on November 12 during the opening ceremony of the Leaders' Summit of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) taking place in Baku, Trend reports via Azerbaijan's Cabinet of Ministers.
“In the course of the conversation, Azerbaijan's cooperation with Antigua and Barbuda in international organizations was noted, and prospects for the development of bilateral relations were discussed,” the information of the Cabinet reads.
To note, the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) kicked off yesterday. COP29, which is held at the Baku Olympic Stadium, will continue until November 22. It is the largest event organized by Azerbaijan to date and the first time in the region that it is being held in Azerbaijan.
A key expectation from COP29 is to agree on a fair and ambitious New Collective Quantitative Goal (NCQG) on climate finance.
A total of 14 initiatives were put forward by the COP29 Chairmanship.
