BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 12. The organization of COP29 is really impressive, Brazil's Minister of Indigenous Affairs Sônia Guajajara told reporters, Trend reports.
“We are attending COP29 to advocate for the safeguarding of our lands, to expedite the delineation of indigenous areas, and to prepare for COP30 in Brazil. We are now confronting difficulties including wildfires, illicit mining, deforestation, and the appropriation of indigenous territories; nevertheless, we require further support. We are vigorously advocating for legislation that safeguards our lands,” Guajajara emphasized.
The minister also mentioned that she was over the moon with how this year's conference was put together.
“The organization of COP29 has made a good impression on us. We are closely following the events in order to honorably host COP30 in Brazil in 2025,” she added.
