BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 11. Azerbaijan's transactions with foreign countries on secondary income reached $449.2 million in the first quarter of 2022, Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the CBA, the bank receipts totaled $272.2 million, while disbursements – $177.2 million.
Some 88.2 percent of secondary income fell on money transfers from abroad, 6.9 percent – on imported humanitarian goods prices, and 4.9 percent – on other receipts.
From January through March 2022, total amount of remittances to Azerbaijan amounted to $240 million, up by 5.9 percent compared to the same period of 2021. Meanwhile, money transfers from Azerbaijan abroad totaled $151.6 million, increasing by 24.3 percent.
In the reporting period, the positive balance on money transfers made up $88.4 million in Azerbaijan. Thus, the overall balance of transactions on secondary income decreased by 2.2 percent and amounted to $95 million, remaining positive.
