BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan amounted to $2.4 million from January through May 2022 or 0.11 percent of the total Azerbaijani foreign trade turnover with Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, Trend reports with reference to the data of Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

According to the committee, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan decreased by 51.04 percent from January through May 2022 compared to the same period in 2021 ($5.104 million).

The share of Tajikistan in total trade turnover of Azerbaijan amounted to 0.02 percent from January through May 2022.

Tajik imports from Azerbaijan amounted to $2.47 million from January through May 2022, which is 51.17 percent less than in the same period in 2021 ($5.05 million).

Tajik exports to Azerbaijan amounted to $28,500 from January through May 2022, which is 36.68 percent less than the same period in 2021 ($45,100).

Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover increased by 73.87 percent (from $11.8 billion to $20.5 billion), or $8.7 billion from January through May 2022 compared to the same period last year.

Exports, in the structure of foreign trade turnover, accounted for $15.4 billion, which is $7.9 billion (107.57 percent) more than in the period of January through May 2021. The share of exports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 75.01 percent against 62.83 percent a year earlier.

Azerbaijan's import, in the reporting period, increased by $724.6 million, or 16.91 percent (from $4.3 billion to $5.1 billion). The share of imports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 24.9 percent against 37.1 percent a year earlier.
