The trade volume between Kazakhstan and the EU countries amounted to $30.07 billion in 2021, an increase of 20.9 percent compared to 2020, when the trade turnover totaled $24.8 billion, Trend reports citing on Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.
Kazakhstan’s exports to the EU countries reached $24.1 billion ($18.3 billion in 2020), while imports amounted to $5.9 billion ($6.5 billion in 2020).
Italy became Kazakhstan's largest trading partner among the EU countries with indicators worth $9.6 billion, which was 27.6 percent more than in 2020.
Kazakhstan’s exports to Italy were $8.8 billion in 2021 compared to $6.6 billion in 2020, whereas imports totaled $786.2 million against $937.1 million in the same period last year.
The second largest trade partner of Kazakhstan was the Netherlands with an overall trade value of $4.6 billion over the reporting period compared to $3.3 billion in 2020. Kazakhstan’s exports were $4.3 billion ($3.1 billion in 2020), while imports were $227.6 million ($240.7 million in 2020).
The third largest trade partner of Kazakhstan among EU countries over the reporting period was France. Kazakhstan’s trade with France amounted to $3.05 billion compared to $2.8 billion in 2020. Kazakhstan's exports were $2.3 billion ($1.8 billion in 2020), whereas imports totaled $664.7 million ($954.09 million in 2020).
