BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, April 16. Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Sydykov and Hungarian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Sándor Dorogi discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation, Trend reports via the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan.
A key point of discussion was Hungary’s decision to increase its contribution to the Kyrgyz-Hungarian Development Fund charter capital — a step both sides view as a catalyst for launching new joint economic projects and deepening financial collaboration.
In addition to financial matters, the talks covered broader economic cooperation, including trade, investment, and agriculture. The two officials emphasized the importance of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission as a strategic mechanism for advancing the partnership.
Agricultural cooperation featured prominently, with both countries expressing interest in developing academic exchanges and joint research between agricultural universities. Hungary also signaled its willingness to share expertise in water management and innovative technologies.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmed commitment to expand cooperation through joint ventures and projects across various sectors of the economy.
The Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund was established and operates under the Agreement between the Government of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of Hungary, signed on April 8, 2021. Initially launched with a capital of $16 million, the fund's capital is expected to increase to $50 million.
