BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 16.​ A musical performance titled "The Call of Fate" was staged in Yekaterinburg, organized by the Russian Azerbaijani Youth Union, the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of Azerbaijan told Trend.

According to the committee, the performance, presented at the Ural State Mining University, tells about how a phone call can become a turning point in a person's life.

The event was attended by public and political figures from Russia and Azerbaijan, including members of the local Azerbaijani community.

Acting Consul General of Azerbaijan in Yekaterinburg Shohrat Mustafayev, Head of the Sverdlovsk Regional Branch of the Russian Azerbaijani Youth Union Toghrul Hasanzade, and others made speeches, emphasizing that such initiatives expand the communication opportunities of young people, strengthen friendly relations between peoples, and promote intercultural dialogue.

The organizer of the performance, Mutvali Shikhlinski, said that the richness of Azerbaijani culture was presented to the audience through music, dance, and skits.

The play, prepared with the support of the "Azerbaijan-Ural" National Cultural Organization, also touched on the themes of family, friendship, and love.

Russian MP Sergey Chepikov emphasized that the young people performed professionally and said that the play made a valuable contribution to Russian-Azerbaijani friendship.
