TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 30. Uzbekistan and Iran engaged in dialogue to enhance their digital collaboration, Trend reports.
The matter was reviewed at a meeting between Uzbekistan's Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov and the Ambassador of Iran to Uzbekistan Muhammadali Iskandariy.
During the meeting, the parties explored opportunities for collaboration in digitalization, exchanging proposals on mechanisms for knowledge sharing, joint projects, and partnerships between companies from both countries.
Both sides also highlighted efforts to advance bilateral initiatives aimed at maximizing the efficiency of digital technologies.
To note, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Iran reached $496.6 million in 2024. This is 1.4 percent less compared to the same period last year ($503.6 million in 2023).
Iran has secured a position within the upper echelon of Uzbekistan's trading partners, ranking among the top 20 entities in terms of bilateral commerce.
