BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 10. Azerbaijan recorded a current bank account surplus in the first quarter of 2022, Trend reports with reference to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
The CBA noted that this indicator increased by $3.3 billion or 6.2 times compared to first quarter last year - from $627.7 million to $3.9 billion. (22.4 percent of Azerbaijan's GDP).
According to the surplus of the current account in the oil and gas sector, an increase of 2.9 times is recorded for the year, up to $5.5 billion. The deficit was recorded in non-oil sector, which increased by 18.2 percent year-on-year to $1.5 billion.
