Shimon Peres: Israel wants to strengthen friendly relations with Turkmenistan

Israel wants to strengthen friendly relations with Turkmenistan, said in a public letter of Israeli President Shimon Peres to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

"Keeping the relations of friendship and mutual understanding existing between Turkmenistan and the State of Israel, wanting to strengthen and further develop the friendly relations, I have decided to appoint Mr Shemi Tzur as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador" - said in the letter.

According to the head of Israel, character and ability of Mr. Tzur give confidence in the fact that in carrying out its mission he would be able to justify the trust exerted to him.

According to the Turkmen government, Israeli diplomat arrived in Ashgabat yesterday presented his credentials to the President of Turkmenistan and handed the leadership of his country's invitation to visit Israel at any time.

"Thanking the Turkmen leader, in turn, addressed to senior management the best wishes of Israel, and it was stressed the desire of Turkmenistan is steadily conducting a policy of broad international cooperation, to strengthen the relations of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation with all the countries of the Middle East", - said in the report.

The sides discussed prospects of cooperation in the fields of economics, business, energy, tourism, education, and water management, as well as in the cultural sphere.
