TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 14. Uzbekistan and Iran have agreed to hold the 16th meeting of the Uzbekistan–Iran joint intergovernmental commission in May 2025 in Tehran, Trend reports.

The news follows a meeting between the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, with Deputy First Vice President of Iran for International Affairs and Regional Cooperation Ali Najafi.

The high-level event will be accompanied by a joint business forum and the Made in Uzbekistan exhibition, aimed at showcasing Uzbekistan's export potential and deepening trade ties between the two nations.

In the course of the talks, the sides reviewed the current state of bilateral relations and identified key areas for enhanced collaboration in trade, economic development, investment, and transport. Emphasis was placed on implementing joint measures to ensure sustainable and balanced growth in mutual trade volumes.

The upcoming intergovernmental commission meeting is expected to serve as a significant platform for expanding cooperation and facilitating new commercial and infrastructure projects between Uzbekistan and Iran.
