BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 14. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed a law amending the "Law on Education" and the "Law on Vocational Education" in Azerbaijan, Trend reports.
The changes stipulate that tuition fees for individuals enrolled in state, municipal, and private vocational education institutions in areas liberated from occupation during the academic years - 2025/2026, 2026/2027, and 2027/2028 will be covered by the state budget. This also applies to those receiving education on a fee-paying basis at these institutions.
Furthermore, amendments to the "Law on Vocational Education" include provisions for covering tuition fees from the state budget for individuals in need of special social protection while studying on a fee-paying basis at vocational education institutions, in accordance with Article 14.8-1 of the "Law on Education."
This law will come into effect on September 15, 2025.
