Turkish police dispersed protesters in Gezi park (UPDATE)

Turkish police began to disperse protesters in Gezi Park in Taksim Square in Istanbul, Anadolu Agency reported.

29 people were wounded during the clashes, said in administration of Istanbul.

According to the report, all wounded were sent to a nearby hospital.

Earlier, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan urged the protesters to leave the center of Istanbul, adding that otherwise the police will use power.

Protests in Turkey continued for more than two weeks. According to the authorities of the country, they had anti-government character.

On the eve of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with the delegation of the protesters in the park Gezi.

It also reported that a representative of the Turkish Prime Minister, deputy head of the ruling party Huseyin Celik proposed to submit the issue of the reconstruction of Gezi Park to a referendum.
