Azeri gov’t to submit its proposals on establishment of intergov’t commission on economic co-op with UAE

The Azerbaijani government will shortly submit its proposals on the establishment of a joint intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation to the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Cabinet of Ministers told Trend.

A relevant agreement was achieved during Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov’s official visit to UAE on 6-7 April. Azerbaijan and the UAE have tremendous opportunities for the development of bilateral economic cooperation, exchange of experience in the oil and energy sectors, a government source said. The sides also intend to take steps for increase of existing goods turnover between Azerbaijan and United Arab Emirates.

The Azerbaijani government assured that the establishment of a joint intergovernmental commission assumes special importance from the aspect of development of economic and trade relationships. In the near prospect the Cabinet of Ministers will complete the formation of the composition of the commission and submit it to the approval of the President.
