Number of court decisions in 2008 exceeds 100,000 in Azerbaijan

The number of court decisions made in 2008 exceeded 100,000 in Azerbaijan. Over 90 percent of them were executed, Khanlar Zeynalov, senior court official, said at the meeting of the Ministry of Justice.

Administrative proceedings were instituted against nearly 605 individuals who did not execute legal requirements on court decisions. Criminal suits were filed against 82 individuals for preconceived execution of court decisions. These cases were submitted to the court. As a result of court decisions execution, the amount paid to legal and physical entities in 2008 increased 40 percent and totaled more than 21 million manat.

Amount of funds paid to the public budget increased 60 percent compared to 2007.

The facts of indifferent attitude of some employees to official duties, untimely implementation of executive measures, as well as circumlocution towards citizen were criticized during the meeting.

Upon Minister's order, head of court executors department in Surakhani district of Baku and senior court executor of court executors department in Narimanov district were dismissed. Head of court executors department in Narimanov region was rebuked and given six months to implement changes in work. 

Administrative proceedings were instituted against other ten employees.

Reports of some heads of local organizations were considered during the meeting.
