Azerbaijan doubles exports to Georgia

Azerbaijan's exports to Georgia amounted to $427.8 million from January through July 2021, which is 52.4 percent more compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee (SCC).

Reportedly, Azerbaijan's exports to Georgia in the same period of 2020 amounted to $280.7 million.

The share of Georgia in total Azerbaijani exports increased from 3.07 percent to 3.75 percent over the year, said the SCC.

“At the same time, Azerbaijan increased imports from Georgia by more than 30 percent - from $36.9 million to $52.5 million on annual basis. The share of Georgia in total Azerbaijani imports in the reporting period amounted to 0.83 percent, while a year earlier this figure was - 0.63 percent,” the SCC said.

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Georgia in the specified period amounted to almost $480.3 million, which is a growth of 33.8 percent on annual basis. From January through July 2020, this figure was $317.6 million.

In general, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover in the first 7 months of 2021 made up nearly $17.7 billion. Of these, exports accounted for $11.4 billion (64.4 percent), imports - $6.3 billion (35.6 percent).

The balance of foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan, remaining positive, increased by 57.7 percent on annual basis - up to 5.09 billion manat ($3 billion).
