Georgia exports knitted goods worth $22 million to Turkey

Turkey is one of the largest trading partners for Georgia, Trend reports with reference to National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

In January-June, the foreign trade turnover of Georgia (excluding undeclared trade) amounted to $5,968.3 million, according to Geostat.

In May 2019, Turkey’s exports to Georgia amounted to $130.354 million, while imports from Georgia - $32.265 million.

Foreign trade turnover between Georgia and Turkey in 2018 amounted to more than $1.7 billion, which is 13.6 percent of the total trade turnover of Georgia.The trade turnover between the two countries for this period increased by 7.1 percent compared to 2017.

The largest share in the value of Georgian goods exported to Turkey belongs to knitwear ($22.1 million), steel semi-finished products ($18.7 million), copper concentrates ($13.7 million), ferroalloys ($10 million) and men's suits ($7.4 million).

The largest share in imported goods from Turkey to Georgia is taken by medications ($45.4 million), cars ($34.9 million), metalwork ($19.6 million), cables ($18.3 million) and steel pipes ($16.6 million).
