Hidden testing of 28 types of cement sold in Georgia was conducted in the country, and only 9 of them produced by 6 companies comply with European quality standards, Trend reports with reference to commersant.ge.
Nineteen samples did not pass the test, their composition is significantly different from the composition indicated on the package.
Of the 6 companies whose products have been tested, 3 companies use local raw materials (clinker), and their share in the cement market is 70 percent.
All of the remaining 19 rejected lots were produced from imported clinker.
The overall testing has shown deterioration in the cement quality - last year of 29 samples, 15 were revealed to be in line with European standards.
Information on results of testing was transferred to Association of producers of cement of Georgia.
