Projects of the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency of Georgia continue to be implemented even in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, Trend reports citing the agency.

As of February 2020, 1,714 loans totaling 91.49 million lari ($28.8 million) were issued under the Preferential Agricultural Loan project. Of this sum, co-financing from the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency of Georgia amounted to 14.49 million lari ($4.5 million).

“Thanks to this project, farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs got access to cheap financial resources,” the agency said.

In addition, the co-financing program Agriculture Modernization, Market Access and Resilience (AMMAR) continues in Georgia. This program includes co-financing components for individual farmers, processors and agricultural cooperatives.

As of March 31, 2020, 99 contracts were concluded under the AMMAR program, the total investment of which amounted to 9.01 million lari ($2.8 million). Of these funds, the agency co-financing amounted to 3.55 million lari ($1.1 million).
