(Associated Press) - After years neglect, Ford is finally showing the Focus a little love. No, we still aren't getting the new C1-based Focus, for that we will have to wait until 2010, but Ford is at least wrapping the current platform in a new skin. The 2008 Ford Focus for the U.S. will get the corporate three-bar grille, new body sides with a character line running line down the sides, and reshaped taillights, reports Trend.
Perhaps the biggest news for 2008 is that the Focus will add a coupe to the lineup. From the photos, and the larger/sportier wheel and tire packages, it looks like Ford might position the coupe as the model's high-performance offerings.
The 2008 Ford Focus is expected to debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
