Azerbaijan, Baku, 18 September / Trend / In Jan-Aug, 2008, over 31.5mln tons of oil and condensate was produced in Azerbaijan, 9.2% up from the same period of 2007, Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee said.
Main bulk of the oil was produced by Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AOIC) - 25.8mln tons of oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields, 11.8% up from the same period of 2007.
Gas production in the country totalled 15.6bln cu m in the Jan-Aug, 56.1% up from 2007. AIOC and the Shah Deniz project produced over 5.5bln cu m of gas, 77.6% up from 2007.
Over 13.5bln KW/hour of electric power was produced in Azerbaijan in Jan-Aug, 1.7% less than in 2007.
