The Public Gas Control Department at the Azerbaijani Industry and Energy Ministry began checking liquefied gas filling stations in Baku, Head of the department Asif Zeynalov said.
"From today, our department is inspecting liquefied gas filling stations," Zeynalov said.
Zeynalov said a group that will check the stations consists of two persons, which is sufficient for Baku. The group's employees have been trained to carry out these checks.
In case of violations at these facilities, the Articles 116 and 118 of the Administrative Code will be applied to violators, Zeynalov said.
Earlier, the parliament approved amendments to the Article 116 "Violations of the requirements of the legislation in the sphere of gas, heat and power" of the Azerbaijani Administrative Code. The Article 118 includes fines for unregistered and illegal gas extraction.
Depending on the administrative violations in the sphere of gas, heat and electricity, fines will be imposed between 200 and 500 manats on individuals, on officials - 1000-1500 manats, and on enterprises - 2500-3000 manats
Zeynalov said the department also investigates reduction of the pressure in the gas when transmitting and canceling its supply. "The department is exploring where and for what reasons the volume of gas was reduced or its supply was halted," Zeynalov said.
"In accordance with the decision of the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers, nobody can stop the flow of gas. Termination of gas - it is impossible to ensure payment for the used gas in these conditions without the use of these measures," Zeynalov said.
