Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, September 2 / Trend G. Hasanov /
Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimukhamedov has signed a decree according to which foreign companies operating in Turkmenistan on the basis of production sharing agreements (PSA), will get new advantages, the official Turkmen source said.
He said that the decree deals with providing a foreign company with land plots for rent within PSA to construct a powerful desalination plant. The proposal was prepared by the management of the Turkmen fuel and energy sector, and is a measure taken to intensify the industry.
Berdimukhamedov approved the initiative, saying that huge hydrocarbon resources and the strategy of rapid development of the Turkmen fuel and energy sector are strong arguments in favor of establishing a mutually beneficial partnership between Turkmenistan and world oil and gas business."
Companies from Germany, Malaysia, UAE, China, Canada, India, Italy, Great Britain and other countries operate within PSA in Turkmenistan.
