Azerbaijan exported over 1.613 billion cubic meters of natural gas in January 2022, up by 30.55 percent, or 492.979 million cubic meters, compared to the same period in 2021, Trend reports referring to the statistical report of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In value terms, gas exports exceeded $803.3 million, increasing eightfold, or by $703.275 million than in the same period 2021. In January 2021, the value of Azerbaijani gas exports amounted to $100.026 million.
During the reporting period, the gas share in the overall Azerbaijani export totaled 26.02 percent.
In 2021, Azerbaijan exported about 20.047 billion cubic meters of natural gas, which was 38 percent, or 7.622 billion more than in 2020. Natural gas export reached more than $5.5 billion in terms of value, an increase of 2.5 times compared to the 2020 result.
