BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 7. Iran and Turkiye signed an agreement to increase number of flights between the countries, Spokesman for Iranian Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) Mirakbar Razavi told Trend.

According to Razavi, in this regard, a discussion was held between the Deputy Chairman of the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization Hassan Khoshkhou and the Director General of the Turkish Civil Aviation Kemal Yuksek.

“Taking into account the requests of airlines, the number of passenger flights between Iran and Turkiye has been increased from 100 to 110 flights per week for each side in order to create additional opportunities for passengers,” he added.

Razavi said that the mentioned 10 flights will be carried out from Turkiye to Iran’s Tehran, Tabriz, Mashhad, Shiraz, Ahvaz, Isfahan and 4 other Iranian cities to be determined later. At the same time, flights from Iran to Turkiye will be operated to Istanbul, Ankara and 8 other Turkish cities to be determined later.

The spokesman also pointed out that at the same time, some other issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting of officials of the two countries.
