A blast rocked the area near the apartment building in Kazakh city of Atyrau on Friday, Kazinform reported. No one was injured by the explosion.
The blast threw the drain cover off and damaged asphalt.
Prosecutors and law enforcement service experts are currently working at the scene. Workers are deepening the hole caused by the blast to determine its reasons.
