Revenues of Kazakhstan's mobile operators will be minimal in 2016, as their income is being spent on the modernization of the technical infrastructure, said a report of the Ranking.kz analytical service.
Kazakhstan's major mobile operators Kcell and Beeline significantly increased investments in fixed capital in 1Q 2016. Kcell spent 29.2 billion Kazakh tenges ($1=336.37 tenges) for development of the network, which is by 13 times more than in the same period of 2015.
Meanwhile, Beeline invested 17.8 billion tenges during the reporting period, which is by 17 times more than in 1Q 2015.
Kazakhstan's other mobile operator Tele2 invested 3.3 billion tenges in fixed capital.
Kcell remained as Kazakhstan's largest mobile operator in the first quarter of 2016. The company has 9.9 million users, which is by 0.5 percent less than in 2015, but more than other companies' subscribers.
