Visiting Iranian Vice President for Parliamentary Affairs Mohammad-Reza Mir-Tajeddini during separate meetings with Lebanese senior officials on Friday called for peace and security in Lebanon, IRNA reported.
Mir-Tajeddini who is visiting Lebanon, met with the Lebanese President Michel Suleiman in Presidential Palace on Friday.
During the meeting Mir-Tajeddini conveyed warm greetings of the Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khameneˈie and President Ahmadinejad to President Suleiman.
Mir-Tajeddini along with the Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi met and conferred with the Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri earlier in the day.
He called for bilateral relations in all areas, adding Iran attaches special significance to peace and security in Lebanon.
On Syrian crisis he made it clear that the US and the Israeli regimes are behind the events in the country and underlined that the crisis can only be resolved through diplomatic means.
He warned that continuation of Syrian crisis can destabilize the entire region.
