Iran’s mobile network's penetration rate reached 98.9 percent by Sept. 21, 2016, the Iranian Telecommunications and Information Technology Ministry reported.
The figure indicates a rise by 1.31 percent compared to June 21, 2016.
Mobile Telecommunication Company of Iran (MCI), the largest mobile operator in the country enjoys the highest penetration rate with almost 45.62 million active users, according to the report.
The ministry earlier said that over 21.35 million of Iran's 80 million population were using mobile phones to access Internet by June 21, compared to 16 million by the end of the last fiscal year (ended on March 20, 2016).
According to the statistics, the number of ADSL users in Iran reached 9 million by June 21. The figure stood at 8.5 million by March 20, 2016.
