Georgia, Moldova to sign several intergovernmental agreements

Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat has today paid a three-day official visit to Tbilisi.

An official welcoming ceremony has been held in the Georgian State Chancellery in honour of the Moldovan Prime Minister. Georgian Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili and government members attended the ceremony.

A meeting of the delegations of the two governments led by the prime ministers began after the ceremony.

Later Filat and Merabishvili will go into the customs clearance zone in Lilo, a suburb of Tbilisi, where intergovernmental agreements will be formalised.
The agreements on visa-free trips of citizens, international road transport, cooperation and mutual administrative assistance in the customs area and cooperation in health and medicine will be signed.

Moldova is interested in studying Georgia's experience to reform the law-enforcement system and mainly the police.

During the visit, Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, Speaker of Parliament David Bakradze and other officials received Moldovan Prime Minister.

Filat will participate in the international conference 'Georgia's European course: EU and its European neighbours' on July 10-11. The current stage of bilateral relations and ways to intensify them are planned to be discussed.
